How should Thai names be transliterated in a translation?
Short answer
Match the passport exactly. Where a person holds a passport, the passport spelling governs every translated document, even when a different romanisation would be more phonetically accurate.
Mismatched spellings across a document set are one of the top rejection reasons at embassies and registries, because the receiving officer cannot confirm the documents describe the same person.
For entities, use the registered English name shown in the company's registration record rather than translating the Thai name afresh.
