Translating academic transcripts and diplomas
In short
Transcripts and diplomas are used for admission, credential recognition, licensing and employment. Each of those uses can demand a different certification route, so the destination is confirmed before translation rather than after.
Grading systems do not map one-to-one between countries. A responsible translation renders the original scale faithfully and does not convert grades — conversion is the receiving institution's job, and a translator who converts them creates a discrepancy.
Where documents are issued abroad, authentication comes before or after translation depending on the destination's rule. Since 22 December 2024 the HCCH Apostille Convention applies to Thailand; confirm with the receiving institution whether it wants an apostille on the original, on the translation, or on both.
What we need from you
- Complete transcript including the reverse side and grading key
- Degree certificate or diploma
- The institution or authority receiving the translation
- Passport spelling of the student's name
Watch out
Submitting a transcript without the grading key. Recognition bodies routinely return files that lack it. Scope, turnaround and fees are confirmed by IVC staff by phone, LINE or email — this site does not publish prices.
