Can I sue in Thailand if my contract chooses foreign law?

Short answer

Possibly, but choosing foreign law and choosing a forum are two different clauses. A Thai court may accept jurisdiction while applying foreign law, and proving that foreign law becomes an evidentiary exercise.

Enforcement is the practical question. A foreign judgment is not automatically enforceable in Thailand, which is why parties with Thai assets often prefer Thai jurisdiction or arbitration with a seat that supports enforcement.

Review the dispute-resolution clause at drafting stage rather than after the dispute arises; by then the clause is fixed and the options narrow considerably.
